League Meeting Reminder – Thursday 26th March

The next league meeting will take place on Thursday 26th March at 8:30pm.

Venue: The Duck Club, Coppice St, Bury. BL9 7LN.

The meeting will take place in the function room, and refreshments will be available to purchase in the members lounge.

Please note there has been a change of venue. This is due to new parking restrictions at Bury Sports Club, where a smart parking system has been introduced that issues fines to vehicles not registered to the club. Due to administrative limitations, we cannot guarantee that visiting teams would not be fined.

Purpose of the meeting:

• Pre-season announcements
• Collection of scorebooks and scorecards
• Opportunity to ask questions to the committee after the meeting

Preseason Gala Day – Sunday 29th March

The preseason Gala Day will be held at Radcliffe Cricket Club.

• Registration: 10:00am
• Start time: 10:30am

Teams taking part should arrive promptly for registration. Please remember to bring a raffle prize.

We encourage all teams, including those not participating, to come along and support the event.

Website Updates

Over the next few days, the website will be updated with all relevant information for the upcoming season. This will be completed ahead of the league meeting.

AGM Summary (Key Points)

• No new rule changes were adopted this year. One Gala Day-related proposal will be considered separately.
• Two new charities were confirmed: Bury Hospice and The Christie.
• Committee structure updates:
  • Removal of President and Vice President roles
  • Introduction of a new HR Associate role
• New honorary members were confirmed.
• Rule clarification: references to “referee” now include trainee referees.
• Committee Honoraria changes were approved.
• Since the AGM, Leah Diamond has resigned from the committee. We thank her for her service and contribution, and wish her well for the future.
